Earlier in December, Minnetonka High School hosted its annual Drive-Up and Donation Event.
With the cold winter months coming ahead, this donation drive sought to collect both food and winter gear for a number of charity organizations, including His House, Hope House and the ICA Food Shelf.
The event was organized by the Hope House event team at MHS, while other clubs such as Service Club Imagine and Legacy 2023 also helped out.
“This event was a great, efficient way to provide essential goods to people who need them,” said Carmen McLaren ‘23, one of the Drive-Up and Donation event organizers and a member of Service Club Imagine. “My favorite part was the interactions I had with people giving donations! Everyone was so friendly, and it warmed my heart knowing they took time out of their day to bring the donations.”
Chloe McLaren ‘23, who is the event organizer for the Hope House event team, shared that their combined efforts resulted in filling three large tubs in the ICA truck, in addition to a dozen bags of clothing for His House and an assorted variety of hygiene products and household cleaning supplies for the Hope House.
“It’s so important that we support our local organizations that are making a difference in our community!” said Carmen McLaren.
The Drive-Up and Donation Event is an annual event that occurs each December, so if you missed this year’s event, mark your calendars for next year!
