Dress-up Days

All students are encouraged to dress up for the spirit days during Homecoming Week! Watch announcements for ideas on how to dress up for these spirit days.
 
  • Tuesday: Pajama Day
  • Wednesday: Country vs Country Club Day
  • Thursday: Fan Day (jerseys, concert merch, etc.)
  • Friday: Tonka Pride Day

Homecoming T-Shirts

Homecoming Tees ($10) will be on sale during the week. Students can purchase them using Vanco and pick them up in the MHS Commons during all lunches. Cash sales will be available on Wednesday and Thursday.

PowderPuff Game

The game will take place on the stadium field on Wednesday, 9/23 from 6:00-7:00 pm.
There are 77 people per team; sign-up is on a first-come, first-served basis, with registration opening Wednesday, 9/16.


Each participant must pay the $20 fee, accept the terms of the waiver included in the registration form, and wear a mouthguard while playing. Mouthguards are required for all players. Mouthguards will be provided at t-shirt pick-up before the game.

Homecoming Court

On September 14, the senior class will nominate this year’s homecoming court. Each senior will have the opportunity to nominate 4 of their classmates to represent MHS and the Class of 2027 at the Homecoming Pepfest and Parade on Friday, 9/25. The court members will also represent the MHS student body by participating in a service project during homecoming week. All MHS students will vote for two Homecoming Royalty representatives on Thursday, September 24, and the winners will be crowned at Friday’s pepfest.

Pepfest

Friday, September 25, the Homecoming Pepfest will take place on the football field at Einer Anderson Stadium. There is an early release schedule at MHS only that day, and the pepfest will occur at 11:30 am (a shortened schedule of all periods 1-6 will precede the pepfest). All students are welcome and encouraged to attend the pepfest!

As part of the Pepfest, it is a tradition that senior boys may sign up to participate in a dance routine alongside the Performance Dance Team.

Homecoming Parade

The parade will take place from 4:00-4:45 on Friday, September 25 in downtown Excelsior. The parade starts at the corner of Water Street and Lake Street, and ends at the corner of Water Street and George Street, with off-loading in the Excelsior Elementary parking lot. There is a $50 fee per float, to be paid on Vanco (link below) before registration. Parade participation is restricted to MHS student groups and district administration.

  1. Pay the $50 Float Registration Fee on Vanco
  2. Fill out the Float Registration Form (one per parade entry)
  3. Each parade participant will fill out the Individual Participant Permission Form

Homecoming Football Game

Friday, September 25, the homecoming game versus Eden Prairie will take place at 7 pm on the stadium field. The tickets cost $6 for students & seniors and $8 for adults. The student section theme is a BLUEOUT - wear your Homecoming Tees!!! All athletic tickets are online only (no cash).

Homecoming Dance 

Dance tickets will be on sale ONLINE ONLY on Vanco for $15, starting Monday, September 14. After school on Thursday 9/24, ticket prices increase to $25. The price increase is to encourage students to buy tickets ahead of time, so the administration can staff the dance accordingly.

The dance takes place on Saturday, September 26, from 8:00-10:30 pm at MHS. There will be a LIVE BAND, a DJ, and a Photo Booth. All students are invited to attend! Semi-formal attire is customary.

Info for Purchasing Tickets:

  • One ticket must be purchased for each attendee (each person attending the dance). Be sure to fill out each individual attendee’s information. 
  • In the Student ID section, enter “guest” for a non-MHS student.

Guidelines for the Dance:

  • All students must have a school-issued student ID or a picture of their Skyward profile, along with their electronic Vanco ticket to enter.
  • All attendees must be current high school students.
  • All guests & their MHS dates must complete the forms below by Thursday, September 24 at 2:40 p.m.
  • Only one guest is allowed per MHS student.
  • No bags or outside food/drinks allowed.
  • No re-entry to the dance after exit.
  • No party buses or other large group transportation is allowed on campus.
