중학교 (6~8학년)

도서관에서 아이패드로 함께 공부하는 두 학생

Middle school is a time to discover new strengths, build lasting friendships and begin imagining the future. At Minnetonka Middle School East and Minnetonka Middle School West, students in grades 6–8 experience exceptional academics within a caring community that encourages them to explore, contribute and excel.

Our teachers understand the opportunities and challenges of these important years. They pair high expectations with personal support, helping students grow in confidence, independence and a sense of who they can become.

Academic Challenge. Meaningful Choice.

Minnetonka students have a voice in shaping their learning. Strong core academics, engaging electives and advanced learning opportunities help students build essential skills while discovering interests that may become lifelong passions.

Honors and accelerated pathways in language arts, mathematics and science provide additional depth and challenge. Our accelerated science sequence prepares eligible students for the opportunity to take AP Physics in ninth grade.

Students continuing in Chinese or Spanish Language Immersion deepen their language skills and cultural understanding while maintaining access to honors courses, electives and support services. Across our middle schools, opportunities in art, music, world languages, technology education and family and consumer science invite students to create, experiment and explore what comes next.

A Place to Belong and Become

A larger school should open doors to new connections. Advisory experiences, supportive teachers and school counselors help students build relationships, navigate challenges and develop a sense of belonging.

Beyond the classroom, clubs, athletics, music ensembles and leadership opportunities give students more ways to find their people and contribute to school life. Whether trying a new activity or pursuing a favorite interest, students become part of a community that celebrates their growth and encourages them to serve others.

Support for Students and Families

Middle school brings new routines, greater independence and important choices. Our staff partner with families to help students navigate each step with confidence.

  • Academic guidance: Support with course selection, learning goals and the transition to high school.
  • Personal and social support: School counselors who help students strengthen relationships, work through concerns and build skills for everyday life.
  • Learning support and challenge: Services and course options that respond to students’ needs, including special education, English language development and advanced learning.
  • Planning for the future: Opportunities to explore strengths, interests and possible careers, helping students make thoughtful choices about their high school experience.
